Crew presents an evening of dance: Under the Distinguished Patronage of the Rt. Rev. L. Errol Brooks, Crew presents an evening of talent at the Dean William Lake Cultural Centre on Sunday 21st June 2015 at 7:00pm. Tickets are E.C. $20.00 and can be obtained from any member of the group.
Plant sale: Members of the DOK/WA will have a plant sale on 28th June following the 6:15am and 8:00am services. Come and get your lovely floral plants for your garden at affordable prices. When you purchase a plant you will be supporting the Restoration of the Cathedral.
Congratulations: We congratulate and extend best wishes to the Rev. Canon Ernest Flemming, who celebrates his 29th anniversary as a priest on 15th June 2015. We pray God’s continued blessings on him and his ministry.
PUBLIC LECTURE: The U.S. Embassy to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and the O.E.C.S will host a public lecture on the Theology of Inclusion on Friday 19th June 2015 at 7:00pm at the Multi-Purpose Cultural Centre. The lecturers will be Dr. Kortwright Davis and Dr. Cain Hope Felder, both are professors at Howard University School of Divinity. Everyone is invited.
EVALUATION OF FOOD FAIR: Stall Holders, assistants sellers of tickets and other interested persons are invited to an evaluation meeting on the food fair on Monday 15th June at the Deanery office at 5:15pm. Your input is valuable; do attend and let us hear from you.
IN GOD WE TRUST: The Antigua and Barbuda Chorale presents a musical programme entitled “In God we Trust” on Sunday 28th June 2015 at the Holy Family Cathedral, St. John’s at 7:00pm. Tickets are on sale at E.C. $30.00. This is a fund raiser towards the Restoration of the Cathedral. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Father/son day: The Parenting group is holding a father/son day at the Deanery on Sunday 19th July 2015. Fathers are encouraged to participate and spend some quality time with their sons. More about the programme later.
RETREAT! RETREAT! RETREAT! The Youth Department will be holding its annual Youth Retreat from July 3-6 on Barbuda. Participants are kindly asked to contact the Deanery for further information.
SUMMER CAMP: The Parish Annual Summer Camp is scheduled for July 6-17 at the DWLCC. The cost will be $150.00. Forms will become available shortly.
Fathers’ day breakfast: As part of their fund raising effort towards the restoration of the Cathedral of St. John, ACWA will host a breakfast at St. Andrew on Fathers’ Day – June 21. Tickets are now available at the cost of $10.00.
Credit union: Help to make the Anglican Credit Union a reality. Sign up as a member, and later purchase a number of shares. The cost for membership is EC$100.00 and forms are available at the church or Deanery.
LINE DANCING: Line dancing at the Antigua Girls High School every Friday from 6:30pm. The cost per session is only E.C.$10.00. Interested persons should get in contact with Fr. Raliville Christian.

EDUCATION CORNER: We continue our tips on “How to strengthen any organization.” from the Christophers News Notes. Tip #9. seek the best interests of everybody: This is a double barrelled point (1) It means ensuring that all members – and not just a handful – share in the benefits of the group; and (2) it involves taking into account the interests of the public at large rather than the vested interest of the few. To modify and improve a measure that would otherwise disregard the rights of a minority requires courage. Even more courage may be needed to forgo some immediate group advantage to serve the wider good of the public. You can count on the assurance the Lord gave the Apostle Paul: “Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent; for I am with you.” (Acts 18: 10)
