EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION: We acknowledge with gratitude a donation of $500.00 from Rosita C. Cornelius towards the Cathedral restoration.
It is with sincere appreciation that we also acknowledge a donation of $650.00 towards the Cathedral restoration from a family that wishes to remain anonymous.
CONGRATULATIONS: Our sincere congratulations to the Rev. Fr. Dwayne Cassius and the Rev. Fr. Reid Simon who were both appointed as Canons of our Cathedral church as of January 1st 2019. We welcome them to the Cathedral Chapter.
INSTALLATION CEREMONY: Heartiest congratulations are extended to the members of the new Parish Vestry and the District Committees that were installed today. Aided by God’s Spirit, may you contribute significantly to the financial management of the Parish for the next two (2) years.
Once again we also indicate how very grateful we are for the accomplishments of the outgoing Vestry and District Committees. Thanks to all the members.
EVENSONG AT THE CATHEDRAL: St. George with St. Mark and St. Francis will lead the Evensong today at 7:00pm. We invite all members to attend.
THE DEANERY STAFF: The Deanery will be closed to the public tomorrow morning for a clergy and staff meeting. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
STEWARDSHIP ENVELOPES: Members are asked to collect your stewardship envelopes. If you are collecting for other members, please ensure that the envelopes are delivered. An appeal is also being made to all who are receiving an income and are not part of the Stewardship list to request your 2019 packet of envelopes. It is also a good Christian practice for parents to have their children who are confirmed included on the list. Remember that by our stewardship of Time, Talent and Treasure, we are demonstrating our gratitude for the goodness of God towards us.
COMMITMENT SUNDAY: Today is our Commitment Sunday. It’s an occasion for all of us to make a commitment to practice the stewardship of time and talent by our involvement in the ministries of the church.
PLEDGE TO FAITHFULLY PERFORM MINISTRY:
Lord Jesus I belong to you. I desire to commit myself to service to you and my fellowmen. Help me to know what you would have me to do. The work that, through your guidance, I choose to do in your Church, give me now and continually the graces necessary to faithfully perform it, for the building up of your Church and the glory of your name. Help me to be dauntless, though obstacles may get in my way. Today I lay my whole life on the altar and yield myself and all that I have to your pleasure and disposal. I do this in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
Priest: Collect for all Christians in their vocation.
CONFIRMATION CLASSES: Confirmation classes resume tomorrow at 4:00pm. Parents and guardians of all confirmation candidates are invited to a meeting on Monday 14th January at 4:30pm. The meeting is to be convened at the DWLCC. Children are to be present at class from 4:00pm, so they will remain for the meeting.

MUSIC COMMITTEE: There will be a meeting of the Music Committee on Monday 21st January at 5:30pm at the Deanery. All organists and choir directors or representatives are asked to attend.
PRAYER AND HEALING SERVICE: We recognize that an increasing number of members are expressing the need to be prayed for. Therefore a decision was made at the Pastoral Committee to schedule a quarterly Prayer Service. This will be rotated among the various churches in the Parish. We will begin on Sunday 27th January at Good Shepherd.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH: This year, February 5th is the Sunday when members may come out to church all dressed in African clothing and the hymns will be Negro Spirituals. However, the programme will be on Sunday 24th February. All choirs are to be involved in the programme, so we request that choirs select their pieces and begin early practicing.
