CONFIRMATION CLASS RESUMES: Parents and guardians are asked to note that confirmation class resumes on Monday 20th April at the DWLCC and St. James Church at 4:00pm. Please note that candidates must be a member of one of the church organizations.
DISTRICT COMMITTEE MEETINGS: Please note that there will be a meeting of the Good Shepherd District committee at Good Shepherd on Wednesday 15th April 5:30pm. and the St. James District at St. James Church Hall on Thursday 16th at 6:00pm. Kindly make every effort to be present.
CLERGY RETREAT: The Antigua based Clergy is organizing a Retreat at Jolly Beach Resort on Tuesday and Wednesday April 14-15, 2015. Your prayers are requested.
THANKS FOR DONATIONS: The Dean requested at the beginning of 2015 that each church organization and choir should aim at raising at least E.C. $ 10,000.00 by the end of April towards the Restoration of the Cathedral. The Brotherhood of St. Andrew & The DOK/WA have reached their target and the churches and other organizations have contributed significant contributions to date. Our sincere gratitude for your sterling efforts.
DOK/WA HOLDS PICNIC: The DOK/WA invites everyone to a picnic at Valley Church Beach on Sunday 19th April from 10:00am. A bus will be available at a cost of E. C. $ 12.00 return. ANNUAL FOOD FAIR: The date for our annual Food Fair is Saturday 30th May on the Deanery Grounds at 2:00pm. We are looking for new stalls to complement the existing ones. We invite you and existing stall holders and assistants to a meeting at the Deanery on Tuesday 14th April 2015 at 5:15pm. Your presence and ideas mean a lot. Please be present.
Good shepherd week: Good Shepherd Church celebrates its Feast of Title – April 24 – May 2. The theme is “Walking With Jesus the Good Shepherd.”
Activities:
Friday 24th – Take-away Dinner. Tickets are EC$ 20.00.
Saturday 25th – Community Day – cleaning and decorating the church and yard.
Sunday 26th – Sung Mass – Family Sunday – Breakfast
Monday 27th – Biblical reflection on theme and panel discussion.
Wednesday 29th – Revival Service.
Friday 1st May – Youth Evening.
An appeal to heavy equipment owners: We are inviting members with back-hoes and trucks to assist in removing the rubble from the construction site at the Cathedral as their contribution to its restoration. Interested persons can contact the Dean. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Unclaimed envelopes: We have been appealing for persons to subscribe to the Stewardship Scheme. The Prayer Book, Catechism states that every member should give in support for God’s work. (page 404). There are close to 100 boxes still at the Deanery. Have you been contributing to the work of God with your tithes and offerings?
Education corner: We continue our tips on how to strengthen any organization: #3 Live up to the duties of membership: Here are some good marks of a good member:-
- a)He willingly fulfills the responsibilities that go along with his rights.
