An appeal to heavy equipment ownERs: We are inviting members with back-hoes and trucks to assist in removing the rubble from the construction site at the Cathedral as their contribution to its restoration. Interested persons can contact the Dean. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Unclaimed envelopes: We have been appealing for persons to subscribe to the Stewardship Scheme. The Prayer Book, Catechism states that every member should give in support for God’s work. (page 404). There are close to 100 boxes still at the Deanery. Have you been contributing to the work of God with your tithes and offerings?

ASSIST in the restoration: Sincere gratitude to all who have contributed to the Fundraising effort for the restoration of the Cathedral. Funds are low and we are making every effort to raise some. We applaud organizations and churches that have taken on the challenge to raise the $10,000.00 that was suggested. We are asking those who are employed and are not involved in Fund Raising to consider a donation of E.C.$25.00, $50.00, $100.00 or more monthly for the next ten months. This will go a long way in assisting us to pay the bills. We again invite members to visit the building and see the extent of the work done.

Education corner: Here is tip #4 on how to strengthen any organization (from the Christophers)

# 4 Show a personal interest: Work with any organization can become quite cold and impersonal unless people go out of their way to inject a warm, personal note to everything they do. Countless opportunities exist to let God’s love find its way into your words and actions…if you look for them. For instance:

  1. Be cordial instead of distant or hostile.
  2. Blend gentleness with firmness when you must take a stand.
  3. Keep lines of communication open.
  4. Disagree without becoming disagreeable.
  5. Give assurance to those who are frustrated.
  6. Respect the feelings and viewpoints of others, no matter how much you may differ.
  7. Listen attentively when others have the floor. Whispering or causing distractions is discourteous to say the least.

In a word, “owe no man anything, except to love one another.” (Rom. 13:8)
