An appeal from USPG: The new name for USPG is U.S. (United Society). The US is raising £48,000.00 to help 50 of the poorest families in the Philippines rebuild their lives. Following the destruction of Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013 which claimed 6,000 lives and destroyed 550,000 homes, the needs remain immense. One new home costs £875.00 and £145.00 could buy a new fishing boat securing a livelihood for two families. For more information please contact the Dean.

SERVERS PRACTICE: will be held on Tuesdays at St. Andrew’s at 4:30pm. All servers should attend.

Thoughts for the week:

  1. Holding on to anger, hate and vengeance destroys any possibility of finding peace.
  2. “I can forgive but I cannot forget,” is only another way of saying, “I will not forgive”.

Education Corner: For the past weeks we have been concentrating on the work place and for this week we will be looking at “Entering Someone’s Cubicle,” – since each person and work environment are different. We recommend being sensitive to each co-worker’s personality. If he is the sort of person who hates interruptions, try calling first or e-mailing to set up a time to meet. Other people don’t mind you dropping by or stopping to talk whenever you need to. But if you do drop by, check to see if the person is wearing a telephone headset. If so, make sure she isn’t talking on the phone or you’ll interrupt her.

A BIT OF HUMOUR: Frank, a five year old, couldn’t keep his eyes off his parents when receiving communion. As his father knelt to pray after receiving the sacrament, Frank leaned over and whispered to his mother “what’s in that stuff the minister gave daddy? He ate it and went straight to sleep.”——————————————————————————–
