EDUCATION CORNER: Here is a tip on how to strengthen any organization.

Attend Meetings regularly. An 80 year old retired steel worker was honoured for his attendance record. During 51 year as a member of his local school board, he had missed only 5 monthly meetings. Make it a matter of principle to attend meetings regularly. You don’t participate unless you are physically present.

Be more than a “joiner” or “dues payer, ” If you think a group is worth joining, then it deserves your personal intelligent, active and continuing support. Don’t stay away from meetings just because they are not run the way you think they should be. Strive patiently to improve them and encourage others to do the same. Remember you have little right to grumble about meetings if you don’t bother to attend.

THOUGTHS FOR THE WEEK:

  1. When you are surrounded by darkness, Christ’s love is a fire that never goes out.
  2. You are God’s child, and your identity is not dependent on what you do or how you look. You are his because of what Christ did for you.
  3. If a care is too small to be turned into a prayer, it is too small to be made into a burden.

Nothing lies beyond the reach of prayer except that which lies outside the will of God.
